Assess

In order to implement a quality, continuously-improving portal solution, companies must be able to identify the business opportunities and priorities, align the appropriate stakeholders, and assess the organization's readiness to adopt an effective solution. The initial phase of The Logical Approach^SM, the Assess Phase, is designed to effectively (and intelligently) set the direction of the portal by quickly establishing the Portal Strategy and Vision, assessing the readiness of the company to deploy the portal, determining the change impact, and creating a plan for moving a successful portal project forward.

During the Assess phase, our initial activities will focus on a research and discovery process that typically includes the following:

• Business Assessment
• User/Environment Assessment
• Technology Assessment
• Current State Assessment.

In this process, we synthesize the outputs of the Assessment Results along with external LDS best practices and expertise to develop a recommended portal solution. This recommentdation provides a business argument that effectively supports the executive decision-making needed to move the project forward.
