The Technical Foundation

LDS is product and platform agnostic, and our years of web and portal work have given us both wide and deep visibility and experience with every major portal platform and component.

Typically, our CIO clients have determined (or are in the process of elaborating) their strategic enterprise architecture standards and associated platforms. They include significant and well-known portal platforms, content management solutions, collaborative environments, and portal tools and digital resources. Since we implement roughly 50% of the solutions that we envision and design for our clients, we are deeply familiar and expert in most, of these technologies.

Even if we are not implementing, though, our clients expect us to be familiar with all of these environments and tool sets, and deeply knowledgeable on how these products constrain and impact our ability to envision and design an optimal business solution and user experience. Further, we use this knowledge to consider, early in our engagements, the implied impact of our designs on ongoing governance and the IT costs to maintain and upgrade the solution going forward.

As a result, we are much more than a design shop. As a hallmark of our brand and a basis for why many of our clients hire us, we create rationalized, intelligent and Informed Designs. To do this, we bring our technical capabilities and sensibilities to every engagement.

As the market for portal infrastructure tools has converged over the last decade, most enterprises have solidified strategic technical partnerships with just a few vendors such as SAP, IBM, Microsoft, and BEA, as the keystones of their portal platform. As a result, we invest in ongoing partnerships and relationships with these key portal and content management vendors to ensure our technical competencies absolutely lead the enterprise portal industry.
